Killgore graduated with a degree from Harding College and started his coaching career in 1975 at Central Arkansas Christian School teaching and coaching football, basketball, softball and track. He is still employed there and is in his 16th year as assistant principal and 18th year as athletic director. He is married to Sheila, and in their spare time he enjoys volunteering, cooking, reading military history, opera, and musical theater. Killgore has been recognized with many prestigious awards throughout his career, such as Athletic Director of the Year. He has also served on many boards including NIAAA, AHSAAA, and Arkansas High School Coaches Association. As a great accomplishment, he has been athletic director over many state champion sports teams.
